Marty Vahlenkamp Addresses The May 13th

Public Meeting Of The BRCC

The Brazos River conservation Coalition hosts its regular monthly public meeting at the Langdon Center Concert Hall on May 13th at 7:00 PM.  The guest speaker will be Marty Vahlenkamp whom has been the Hood County agricultural Agent for the last several years. He started his career in 1999 as an Assistant Ellis County agricultural Agent. He works primarily in the areas of home horticulture and forages. He is a life long member of 4-H and the recipient of a Texas 4-H Texas Oppurtunities Scholarship. Marty holds an Animal Science degree from Texas A&M and earned his Masters Degree from West Texas A&M University in 1999.

Mr. Vahlenkamp believes that rain water harvesting is a process of increasing importance in the face of diminishing water supplies and resulting higher water costs. Marty will discuss water conservation, pollution from run-off, rain water harvesting methods and the economics of rain water harvesting.

If you have questions Marty Valhenkamp has the answers. Please check out the following links from Hood and Menard County's Cooperative Extension Web Sites:

BRCC Website Changes

The BRCC website is undergoing some changes.  BRCC Hood and the BRCC had been maintaining separate websites.  To ensure that there is no ambiguity about the unity of the BRCC it has been decided to use the BRCC’s original website exclusively.  Phil Delucchi and the new web manager, Bradley Davis, have been busy shutting down the BRCC Hood website and transferring the content to the BRCC website.  There may be a delay in getting some content posted, but Phil assures that the result will be worth any temporary interruptions.  Visit the site at: www.brazosriverconservation.org.
