Dan Loomis Addressed The March BRCC
Mr. Loomis says he retired and
moved to Granbury in 2001 because working was interfering with his bass
fishing. He spends six days a
week on the lake and has come to know it very well.
His dedication to the lake is evidenced by his consultation work with the Watershed Protection Plan Stakeholders and Joan Glass, Kills and Spills Biologist with Texas Parks And Wildlife.
BRCC Activity Update
BRCC President Billy Teels has been busy during recent months preparing for the legislative effort to have the John Graves Scenic Riverway extended through Hood County. The draft of the Hood County Commissioners Court resolution of support for the legislation has been finalized and will soon be presented to the Court. It is planned to meet with Granbury Mayor David Southern so a similar resolution can be passed by the Granbury City Council. Chamber of Commerce support is also being pursued. Several maps of the Brazos River basin have been obtained from the BRA. These will be used as support material for presentations to promote the riverway designation. Communications are moving back and forth between the offices of Representative Jim Keffer, Senator Kip Averitt and President Billy Teels and Ed Lowe, president of the Friends of The Brazos River, in an effort to find a date for them all to meet and lay out the plan for the introduction and passage of the riverway legislation. The FBR is eager to have the designation extended through Somervell County.

Website Changes
The BRCC website is undergoing
some changes. BRCC Hood and
the BRCC had been maintaining separate websites. To ensure that there is no
ambiguity about the unity of the BRCC it has been decided to use the
BRCC’s original website exclusively.
Phil Delucchi and the new web manager, Bradley Davis, have been
busy shutting down the BRCC Hood website and transferring the content to
the BRCC website. There may
be a delay in getting some content posted, but Phil assures that the
result will be worth any temporary interruptions. Visit the site at: www.brazosriverconservation.org.
